Matt’s Going National

In a recent blog, we highlighted the tournament fishing exploits of our own Matt Bedigian, who works out of our home office.

There’s an update: Matt and his fishing partner have won a place to represent Massachusetts in the Bassmaster Team Championship at Lake Hartwell in South Carolina, to be held in December.

Matt and his buddy amassed enough points in the local Bassmaster tournament here in southern New England to qualify for the team nationals happening December 7th-10th on Lake Hartwell.

Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, the team event will take place on the 7th and 8th, with teams representing almost every state in the union. After two days of competitive fishing, the top three teams – six anglers in all – will then move on to the two-day Fish Off on the 9th and 10th.

Here, the competition is individual, and the angler with the highest weight total after the Fish Off will be crowned champion and move onto the Bassmaster Classic, the “Super Bowl” of competitive bass fishing, scheduled for March 2023 in Knoxville on the Tennessee River lakes of Fort Loudoun and Tellico.
